Meet the Incfile Grant Winners
The most recent round of grant winners shone due to their entrepreneurial vision and their dedication to making their dreams a reality. Let’s take a closer look at why their applications stood out!
Kerrington Pinckney – F.Y.T.S by KP
Kerrington is our Young Entrepreneur grant winner. She is a creative high school student who believes motivation, self-awareness and accountability are critical characteristics for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Her brand, F.Y.T.S (pronounced “fits”) by KP, is an apparel business that makes custom clothing for the members of her community. Initially a retail endeavor, Kerrington soon realized retail may not be for her. She was inspired by the example of her aunt (also an entrepreneur), who advised her that entrepreneurs serve the people. This helped Kerrington to identify her audience, then find the best way to be of service to it.
Kerrington believes identifying how to best serve your audience is key to the success of your business. The leadership and grit demonstrated by her aunt inspired Kerrington and helped her to believe she could make her dreams of entrepreneurship a reality.
Her brand will continue to evolve in tandem with trends, her community’s influence and her own personal interests. Her goal is to continue growing her brand as she makes the transition from her teenage years into becoming a young adult.

Monet Dyson – Dipped in Color
Monet is our Fresh Start grant winner. When a drunk driver hit her car, Monet Dyson became a stay-at-home mom. She found herself juggling motherhood, full-time work and building a business.
Monet’s tie-dying business, Dipped in Color, initially began as an outlet for her anxiety. However, it meant spending more time away from her son and she began to feel guilty.
By painting together, she found a new way to relieve this feeling. Inspired by this discovery, her business began transitioning from clothing to paint parties. Although COVID halted in-person meetings, it reinforced the need for quality, family-time activities that painting together could provide.
Monet enjoys exploring networking opportunities. She is dedicated to continuously improving herself and her business by being open to constructive criticism and feedback. She sees laying the foundations for future success as being her core focus. In order to effect this success, she looks to planning, funding options, becoming an LLC, creating a business plan and content and examining her product/market fit.
